My favorite brushes: Real Techniques
As I first approached the beauty world, all I heard was how you HAVE to have the right tools in order to achieve flawless skin or eyeshadow blending. However, all the gurus on youtube were using Sigma and MAC brushes, which are ridiculously expensive! Thankfully in 2011 pro makeup artist Samantha Chapmann from Pixiwoo developed a line of affordable makeup brushes of amazing quality called Real Techniques.
As soon as they launched, everyone in the beauty community tried them out and loved them, and so do I! The brushes are all synthetic, made of taklon bristles that make them suitable for both powder and cream products and very easy to clean.
The collection is color coded distinguishing between:
- Orange - for flawless base
- Purple - for enhanced eyes
- Pink - for perfected finish
I bought 3 sets that include the basic brushes: the Core collection (base), Starter set (eyes) and the latest release Sam's picks.
From left to right: multi task brush, setting brush, pointed foundation brush, buffing brush |
The base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush and the new essential crease brush are the brushes I use to create all my eye looks and I love the accent brush to smudge eyeliner and apply eyeshadow to my lower lash line.
On the side from these sets I purchased separately the lash-brow groomer which is perfect to separate clumpy eye lashes with its metal comb.
You can find these brushes at feelunique.com and a set costs around 26 euros and gives you 4 full size brushes and a brush holder.
Love love love these brushes!
